Large Scale Shows

Hi everyone,
I was just looking through the new issue of Garden Railways and caught the ads for the upcoming shows. I was just wondering who was planning to attend any this summer? Time for me to look at booking my holiday time at work. Tell us if you are planning to attend and which show. The ads I saw were for the Midwest, East Coast, and the biggie in Denver. For me it looks like possibly the Midwest one or Denver. Depends if I can get the time off. Would be great to meet and put some faces to the names. Sound interesting? Later eh…Brian.[tup] [:D]

Hey Brian,

Hows thing in the “Great White North”, not to cold, Eh?

I’ve got two I’m planning on hitting this year, the Model Train Expo hits the Pomona Fairgrounds this Febuary, its all scales but theres always some large scale and other “items of interest”, and the “Big Train Show” at the Queen Mary this June. The Big Train Show is I guess one of the biggest in the nation (lucky us) and I’ve been going now for the past 3 years and always have a good day there. Mostly just walk around, some vendors are greedy and gouge the prices a bit but I’ve always found some vendors that are selling stuff off old inventory cheap. So I always get something good. I try to learn something new with each visit.

I am also planning to go to the model train expo in Febuary. Last year Athearn (HO scale
) special on a P42 for just $10.00!! I hope they have another special this year. I am also planning on going to the Big Train Show in June. I think this will be my 9 year going there in a row! I am also planning to go to the train show in Denver this year but I’ll have to see about that[swg]!!

My module group, the Central Connecticut G Gaugers Module Group will, once again, be displaying at the East Coast Large Scale Train Show, in York, PA. Our group is one of only two who has displayed at every ECLSTS!

I’ve also secured a booth in the Dealer Hall to promote membership in the LGB Model Railroad Club, so I will probably be spending the majority of my time at the booth, rather than running trains on our layout. But, that’s OK. I enjoy talking to people. Also, for the first time in the 6 years that the ECLSTS has been on, LGB will make their first appearance at the show, with a booth.

Hey all,
Lots happening this summer. Bound to cross paths with someone out there. More snow here tomorrow. Just livin’ up to our name eh. Glad to hear you guys are planning for the shows. Support from us is what keeps them going. Go Large Scale…Later eh…Brian.

Hello Railroaders,
Count me in on “The ECLTS”!! Anyone with a chance should go for the day at the least!! Lots of Ideas,Great Seminars and Lots of Bargins!! Many Thanks for a “Job” that has been very well done, your hard work shows year after year!!

Count me for sure on the MWLSTS and really hoping for sure on the Denver one. I hope to see Marc H. RR.

Hey All,
Thought I would resurrect this thread. This Thurs. (May 20th.) a friend and I will be on our way to Illinois for the MWLSTS. Anyone else besides Marty going??? Thought I would ask one last time since I don’t want to miss anyone there. My friend is not at all into Large Scale (YET). I hope a visit with OLD DAD and the show will change all that. My friend has emailed several times about how excited he is to be going. This is goooood! Now maybe I will have someone to help me with getting a group going here. Gonna’ be an awesome trip! Later eh…Brian.

Hi Brian,
Just noticed that there’s just us two on the forum at the moment, thought i’d say ‘hello’. You guys get some great shows over there so i’m going to have to start saving & get me & Gail over there. See you in a couple of years!!
Cheers,
Kim

Kim,
Looking forward to it. Just made another post but the forum crashed on me just then. It is great to be able to meet some of the people on here. Was planning on attending Denver but I get my holidays a week later. Oh well…still gonna’ go there anyway. Plan on riding the Georgetown Loop…www.georgetownloop.com and what ever else is in the area. My kids are pumped about the trip. We are a train family. Sure hope you can make it out to this side of the pond one day. Would be great to co-ordinate and meet with a few others at the same time. Now that would be cool. Later eh…Brian.

Still planning on on BTS at the Queen Mary this June 5 or 6. Not sure which day I will hit it.

Planning on Denver, got confirmation today. Hope to do the Georgetown Loop before it closes down. Will be at CHACO Cyn NHCP for 6 weeks before the convention hosting and telescoping. Hope to meet quite a few of you in DNVR.

South of Houston there is nothing and if it was in Houston panic attacks get me so I don’t go to Houston [|)]
Nothing around but nature, and I love nature[:)]

Bluebonnet - 71,
Same deal here in Canada. Lotsa’ nature and wildlife. That’s why my Big Mac truck has a really nice Roo Bar on the front. Only needed it once though. This buck took me on and went to heaven in the same minute. As for shows nothin’ here for Large Scale either. That’s why it’s off to Illinois! Hope to change that here in the next few years. When we move out of the city I would love to have a gathering of our own here. A dream in the works! Later eh…Brian.

Bman

Yeah, love it. Grew up in country and even Policed there. Now Panic attacks keep me from Houston or very busy areas.

We will be attending the LGBMRRC Convention in Mystic, CT and also have open house for their garden railway tours. Will also be attending the Garden Railways Convention in Denver. Had planned on riding the Georgetown Loop and after hearing what is happening between the Historical Society and the operator will make sure we do the ride.

George

Hi Bluebonnet - 71

GATS is havinga show at the Pasadena, TX civc center in early June. While it is mostly HO scale, there is some "G"ood stuff as well. My son and I will be there.
