Last issue Classic Trains

If I am correct Classic Trains will merger into Trains.

When is or was the last issue of Classic Trains? ( I think it was on the forum but I can not find it back)

It’s the Spring 2026 “Conrail at 50” issue. It was issued several weeks ago but there was no mention of the mag’s demise IN the issue. The notification came on-line.

I’d be interested to know how (or if?) Firecrown is going to contact us Classic Trains / Trains subscribers, telling us how long this will extend our Trains subscriptions by.

They’ve already said they’ll provide a Trains subscription for three times the number of remaining CT issues, or provide a pro rata refund for remaining issues if you don’t want Trains.

Me, I’m going with the “Trains” option. I let my “Trains” subscription expire a while back and concentrated on “Classic Trains” and “Classic Toy Trains.” I thought “Trains” itself had gotten a bit lackluster. So I’ll try it again and see what it’s like now.

Sounds good, where did you see that? I haven’t received anything from them.

Yes. For every issue remaining on your Classic subscription, you will receive three issues of Trains.

We’re going to increase the number of pages in Trains.

Thank you for the information

Only for subscription’s in the US and not for Canada and International because they not send any copies anymore outside of the US.
How they wil do it for Canada and International? (These subscription’s are extended with “all acces” to Trains .com, but for how many months?)

You’re welcome!

Yes I see the reply, but I just got a renewal notice saying my Trains subscription has expired. I know I have several issues (maybe a year?) left on my CT subscription. Of course, I can’t log in to Trains.com so I have no way to check how long my subscriptions have to go.

I’d like to hear from Firecrown directly (letter, e-mail) saying 'your Trains subscription has been increased by X issues due to your Classic Trains subscription being cancelled by us".

Railfan & Railroad is starting to look good…

I hope this doesn’t get me in trouble but when “Trains” appeared to be running out of steam (no pun intended) several years back I let my subscription expire and went with “R&R” and have been VERY satisfied, a little more money but a lot of mag FOR the money. It’s what “Trains” used to be like.
I’ll take the combined “Trains” and “Classic Trains” issues just to see what they’ll be all about and IF I like what I see I MAY resubscribe.
I AM keeping “Classic Toy Trains.”
