Before you think you are going to see something out of a train magazine, its not. In fact dare right pitiful by anyone standerds. But what it did is get rid of most of the 18" turns and added depth to the layout.

Pic of the end that got most of the new track. All the turns on this end are now either 26" or 21 "on the inside.

Lay out still has some bugs in it but I will work them out. Down side is all the bugs are in the deep end! Figuers does it not. Will be cutting a BIG opening this week end so I can get to the out side line and see what is causing the problem. Seems when I pulling freight front wheel of the engine lifts up and comes off the rail. Engine by it self, no problem.

One spur take the train to the backwall and make it run aginst the main line. Sort of makes it look like a cutback yet it is not. Plus the are 2 main lines so to speak. Inside and out side lines. Not being DCC yet or having the layout cabbed (spell check) it is great running two engines with out worrying about them running to other. Turn outs to the inside lane have plastic rail joners so a second thottle can be added. Plain is one loop will be for DCC and other for DC. But with a throw of a switch either or both can be DC or DCC controled.

In thoses 2 PIC you will see the Moore Ware House other ware house with the strarting of a spur to them. If you look closely in the other PIC there is
Pretty or not, the REAL question is “Are you enjoying yourself?”
That’s what hobbies are all about.
Are you using flex track, especially in that problem corner? If so, make sure you didn’t curve it too tight or kink it where it’s giving you problems.
Vroom Vroom. That is progressing down the track. Like you, I needed to see trains run, as I worked on the rest of the railroad. I assume that the part we are seeing here is the flat part and the mountains, grades, tunnels and bridges are in another location to be built later. Let the fun continue.
I agree with the other guys, if it ain’t fun it ain’t worth doin! And my Engli***eacher would have a coniption fit over that sentence. (what the heck IS a coniption, anyway…
I’ve been in the hobby a relatively short time and I told my wife when I started that if it got to the point I wasn’t enjoying it, it would all go on ebay. So far it hasn’t.

The only real issue I notice you’ve already mentioned–your corners are way too deep to reach. I plan on a 6’ X 12’, which means a 3 foot reach–generally 24 inches, or mayble a max. of 30 inches is the most reccommended. Height of your benchwork may vary this a bit–I plan on 42" so I think I’ll just be able to reach the 36" max. that I plan. Looks like your bench height is low enough you may also be able to make that, but as you’ve already noted, your corners are only reachable by (1) climbing on the table or (2) building an access hatch–looks like you do have room at that corner to put one in.

First folks thanks for being kind, I knew i was oping my self up for people that want to make fun of new people.
As far as “Iam I having fun”, ask me again if a few days.[:D] Old rail was not as fun as this, but worked perfect with all rolling stock and engines. This lay out well little hit and miss. First night I could keep nothing on the lines either 1 or 2. Proto’s 2000 would not make it a round period.
Second night one of the main problems was solved by my SPD. Seems one of the spikes had work it self up a little and was causing the PK’s to derail but with the sping truck’s did not make any noise I could hear. SPD did not like the spike and after 6 hits the spike was gone, not sure where but the PK’s will stay on line one now.[8D]
Won’t bore you folks with stupid details but bottom line right now line 2 as a Super weight F-7 A pulling 13 cars for 2 hours with no problems. FP-45 running with out a load but no derails on line 1.
Arthill, my idea at this point on the new bench work will replaces the section I just re did. Make the bench the same sizes and replaces it when other section when done. I will be asking for ideas and help when the bench is done.
I did pick up some (boy spelling is going to be bad) cheap packing Starefoam. (said the spelling would be bad) It was free from work and will gule it together and have at it with a hack saw to see what I can do. If I don’t like it than I will try plaster. If I dont like that it will be a Illinois corn feild with trains.[:D]
Thanks again for being kind.
Sure not Bob Villa, just Cuda Ken posting again
