Hi everyone, I have a few questions that maybe someone can help me with. I have collected O gauge trains for several years and would love to make some kind of layout. The problem is that I moved into a condo with very little room. I have Lionel Fast track and the only place I can set them up is on the floor. Now being a senior citizen this gets to be very hard on the knees. So I was thinking of trying to build a N gauge layout. I never really liked N gauge but what other choices do I have? My questions are: 1. What type of N gauge fast track is better, Kato or Bachmann? 2. Should I use DCC 3. I saw a 027 tubular layout in Classic Train Magazine which was built on 4 by 8 plywood which I liked. How much room do I need to make this in N gauge. 4. Should I make my wife give up her dining room for my O gauge trains and risk divorce. Don’t answer that LOL. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Jon
I know nothing about N gauge, But I do love my DCC after 60 years without it.
Instead of a 4x8 in the center of the room, try a shelf layout, with N-scale you could build it a foot wide and still get some great scenes.
heres a web site with some usefull info.
