Have you guys seen the new LBF railgon gondolas ? They’re painted black ,just like the prototype, metal wheels and 65’ in length. Maybe not new ,but its the first time I’ve seen them.
I’ll have to pick a 3-pack of these up too. Does anyone else own these ?

From my experiances if it is made by LBF it is a good idea to stay away from it. Specifically I have a boxcar (my first and last LBF model) that has a weight that won’t stay down with glue, and the roof won’t stay on. Since the weight is screwed up I can’t glue the roof.
I have had generally good luck with LBF. The cars require a bit more work than many of the cars on todays market. I have had the issue with the weight but I found a way around it. The interior of the cars contains a series of ridges that prevent the wiehgt from bonding to the base of the car. I use strip styrene to build a base above the ridges and then use goo to bond the weight to the base. The end ladders on many of their boxcars are delicate and require a careful touch. The trucks included with their cars are a little rough and I plan to replace all of them in my collection in the future. Although I am not impressed with their trucks, their wheelsets are quite good.
Over the past several months, I have seen an increasing number of the new TTX gondolas in Tulsa, Ok and they are impressive. I am a little skeptical about buying a model sight unseen, but I may buy a setl.
Did you put it together right ? I own about ten LBF cars ,never had a problem with them. Thank you for the warning though hhmmmm ,maybe there was some problems with the earlier kits …dunno.
I’m not sure, but back when I built that my dad supervised my building closely, so if I did miss something I’m sure he would’ve noticed and help me correct it.
Are these cars you’re talking about RTR? I have no experience with LBF RTR, so those may be great models.
