My daughter & family will be moving from Philadelphia suburbs to Cleona, Pa. just outside Lebanon and their new house will be only a block from the tracks, which they think are CSX - Can anyone confirm which railroad goes through Lebanon, how many trains a day & what type of freight I might expect to see. Will surely miss their home on the Philadelphia line between Philly & Paoli.
Norfolk Southern runs thru Lebanon. It’s former RDG. There used to be big limestone quarries there that fed Bethlehem Steel. There are PLENTY of trains these days.
Here’s an online guide to the line that goes through Cleona:

There’s a large quarry a few miles west of Cleona that ships out trainloads of limestone. (It’s on Rt. 422 west of Annville, behind the Walmart) They use some old GEs, including a U-boat or two.
