Can anyone help me? I am looking for extra track for my wife’s Lemax train. We purchased the train and initial track at Garden Ridge in Austin Tx but they didn’t carry extra track. Also, if the track the same size as the HO track for other brand trains? Thanks so much!
Not sure who makes the Lemax trains, or even what scale they are (though I expect HO). Best to take a single section of Lemax track to a local hobby shop and let them find a match for you. Also, have you tried a lemax web site/distributer?
If that doesn’t yield satisfactory results, drop the Lemax track and just go with a brand that’s readily available to you locally. Bachmann EZ track, or something like that, that snaps together easily.
Hope that helps.

I do believe it is HO scale track, but that the engines/rolling stock is more On30. I agree with the option for taking it to a hobby shop. If you can match up with HO, you will get a lot more for your dollar by switching to another brand track in the same scale. Good Luck, we love our Lemax items…they used to make the K-Line buildings too.

I saw track add on packs for Lemax trains at my local Menards home supply store (I don’t know if Menards is just a Midwest thing, or if they have any in your part of the country…) If you have any of them in your area, you could try looking there. Unfortunately, they don’t sell online, so you would have to stop in there in person.
Hobby Lobby also carries Lemax items, as well as many train items, perhaps they would have something useful?
Thanks for all the suggestions! I did go to Hobby Lobby but they didn’t have any Lemax branded tracks. I tried some of the HO scale tracks and it seems to let the train ride smoothly but the existing Lemax track won’t fit with the HO track I purchased so the switch won’t work. I guess I will need to get a switch that fits with the HO and abandon the Lemax track altogether which isnt a bad deal really. We don’t have Menards here in Texas, what type of store would they compare to if you dont mind? Thanks again to everyone’s help!
Go to King’s Hobby on North Lamar and take the set with you. They are the only place in town with any significant interest in trains.
They’re open on Sundays now.
Menard’s is similar to Lowe’s or sort of Home Depot. It definately is its own company though. Lowe’s has Christmas stuff but I do not know about Home Depot.
If you have alot of track you really want to use you can take one each straight piece of Lemax and whatever new track brand you pick. Then Cut the straights in half. Next connect the cut ends except use the two different track styles. Find a way to join them (perhaps mount to a board). Wire up (solder or ???) an electrical connection and you will end up with two conversion tracks.

The best place to find old and new Lemax items is www.ehobbytools.com . They have 12" straights, 2 for $3.99, same for curves. The ad notes: FOR LEMAX TRAINS ONLY…which leads me to assume that other tracks won’t work. Joe
