Length of boiler on the Bachmann Richmond 4-4-0?

Thinking about a kit bashing project and I need to know the length of the boiler form the front of the smoke box to the back of the cab on the Bachmann Richmond 4-4-0. HO feet is fine. Any with one of these engines and an HO ruler that can give me the length? Thanks - Nevin

The boiler extends about halfway back through the cab. The BOILER length, then, from the front of the smokebox to the back of the boiler is right about 25.5 feet.

From the smokebox front to the back of the entire cab is 29 feet (that is to the rearmost upright member of the cab, NOT the roof overhang that extends toward the tender).

This locomotive is modeled after Maryland & Pennslyvania’s Richmond-built 4-4-0s #4 through #6. A scale drawing of the prototype is found on page 85 of George Hilton’s book The Ma & Pa.

Thank you very much. The low boilered 4-6-0 is 31 feet from the back of the cab to the front of the smokebox. I think I may have a kit bash to try. - Nevin
