I found something interesting at Michael’s (craft store) recently. It’s a box of fancy brads, each one with a letter of the alphabet. Upper and lower case are both included. I think these could be useful for making signs on buildings, even in the smaller scales. You’d have to cut off the tabs on the back of the letters.
Wish I could find some that are half or less that size.

Ray, Find a ‘scrapbook’ store. The should be able to cut characters in the size/font you want on their Cricut cutting machine. Jim

I found a place online a while back that sells letters used on bulletin boards in schools, businesses, churches etc. It’s the kind where the board has two horizonal slits, and the letters have tabs on the top and bottom that fit in the slits. The lower tabs make it easy to glue the letters to the top of a building. You can see some in red if you look in the upper right, above the US and Canadian flags on the building in the background:
