I was thinking about writting LGB and suggesting they model an Austrian narrow gauge train that i like. Then i thought about other things i should suggest to them, such why not include metal wheels on all cars? This lead me to wonder what suggestions the GR community would have for LGB. The only guideline is to direct your comments in regards to LGB and not other manufacturers.

Metal wheels is good. The only LGB car I have these days is the drovers caboose and that has metal wheels fitted as standard. As with all things LGB it’s a cracking car but, as with all things LGB, it’s expensive. I would say to LGB (and all other manfs), stand back for a short while and see what’s happening out there in the gardens, you may see your market has changed a bit.

Welcome to the forum! Great bunch here. I have a few LGB rolling stock myself. My only beef is price and they should include metal wheels. I find they are well made otherwise. Enjoy the forum! Later eh…Brian.
I bought a Stainz engine with two passenger cars with plastic wheels. When I converted them to metal wheels, the little Stainz could not pull them. I had to use (curses) an Aristo 2-4-0. I find that plastic leaves a residue on the track and needs constant cleaning. the metal wheels roll smoother, too. Maybe I will double head the Stainz’s.

I have two beefs with LGB
Whats this exclusive to America rubish on track side accesories
They can have as much exclusive roilling stock as they can handle but track side should be all user avalabilaty there are not enough trackside bits avalable from all scources as it is.
The second is how come at any one time they don’t have enough stock in production to make a complete passanger train and goods train for any given railway listed in the catalogue exept the Feldbahn that is.
And last why no metal wheels fitted as standard they are expencive enough that they should be with not a plastic wheel in sight
They claim to be the Rolls Royce of the large scale so why plastic wheels
As far as stock goes where is the other than US and European stock
surely other places are worth looking at for models as well.

Well guys and gals, I’ve been wondering the same thing in regards to the wheels. The first thing anybody changes seems to be the wheels. I have a drawer full of them, why I kept them I’ll never know.
