Hello, talk of the town. There is in the USA a manifacture who sales a copy , made in China , from the LGB Harz tenderloc 1 C 1 2080. This is a loco who still rides today in the German Harz mountains region. Does anyone knows more abouth this retailer ? web site perhaps ? The make there own wagons as well. THX Marc
I do know about it, but I am reluctant to give info on it. It is really a cheap copy of a LGB 2-6-2 Harz loco, which is unlike the original, R/C controlled. The word control seems to be far fetched, as the loco either races around the trck , or stands still.
The copy is in no way sanctioned by LGB/Marklin - it is one of those acts of product piracy we should not honor by buying that stuff.
Btw, your question will be much better placed in a forum for “big” scales, like “garden Railway” - [swg]
Newquida reverse engineered the LGB model, along with some passenger cars and freight wagons. They are not even close to the quality of LGB, wheels are plastic with rough casting lines, so they like to derail. Your better off camping out on ebay for a real 2080 or give Dave Watts a call at Watts Train Shop, they had a couple of those in stock last time I was there. He buys and sells LGB collections as well as New LGB. Hammond Toys had the chinese clone’s on thier online site if you want the clone.
