Are the Life-Like Light-Ups Railroad Signals supposed to flash?

I have two brand new signals (#1207) that light up, but don’t flash. There’s no information on the package back about this, just the wiring diagrams.

Does anyone have these signals who could help me with my question?

Thats all I could find “Wiring instructions of the back of package” I have a couple of these from the grandson’s layout.

Later when I go down to the trains, I’ll try one out.

These are for “O” and “S” scale.

In another thread, in another forum, someone said there was an undertrack switch to make them flash.

OK, after diner I went down, found the signals, hooked one up to my power pack that I use to test DC locos, cranked the throttle to gave it power, and both lights light up, and then begin to flash, both lights flash at the same time, kind of erraticly.

There must be some type of sensor to turn them on and off, so they are not flashing all the time? But maybe not, maybe that’s what they’er supposed to do, just sit there and flash.

I dunno!

These are simple things. That’s probably all they are supposed to do. Not likely they come with any sort of fancy sensor to turn them on and off. There’s a reason why the Logic Rail Grade Crossing Pro which emulates true prototypical action is a whole lot more expensive…

I agree. I mean why shut off? It takes only a few seconds for that Life Like diesel with the pan cake motor to fly around the oval, so they might as well just stay on, and keep flashing. The motorist at the crossing just has to take his chances. [(-D]

I had both signals connected to the power pack for 20 minutes and they never flashed once. Maybe the ones I have aren’t supposed to flash. Thanks for all your help.

Maybe the bulbs are shot, or wire came loose, who knows. I don’t think there is a way to take the cover off of the flashing device mounted under the “pile of ties”.

But they are suppose to flash. You did turn the throttle up on the power pack? or try the Accessory side. I hooked mine up to test them on the dc/track side.
