I have one of these beautiful little engines and I’m 100% happy with every aspect of the engine. I hard-wired a Tsunami into the tender and the sound is great. This engine crawls along very slowly and smoothly and has no problems with stalling on turnouts.

I will probably add a couple more and modify them as Virginia Blue Ridge Ry engines.

just received two of these models today and wired in tsunamis with .75" speakers. I may be able to squeeze a 1" in there, not sure though. The high quality manufacturers have brought to plastic steamers makes this a terrific time to be involved in this hobby. I find the whole action of the steam locomotive running gear mesmerizing and these particular models run like a fine watch. Slow speed and power are remarkable for such a small engine. Details and finish are first rate. So far I have not found any flaws. Keep up the good work Proto/Walthers!! If proto/walthers decides to make a Mikado model they can certainly count on me to be ordering some.
