Lil Critter Hook & Loop Couplers

Can anyone tell me how to install the hook & loop couplers that come with the Aristo-Craft Lil Critter? My Lil Critter came with knuckle couplers installed and, normally, it is a simple matter to remove the knuckle couplers and just screw the hook & loop couplers in their place. However, on the Lil Critter, the hook & loop coupler doesn’t have a long enough shaft to install it where the knuckle coupler had been. Has anyone done this conversion? If so, can you tell me what you did to get the hook & loop couplers to work?

I have had almost every small engine over the years …except this one. If no one here can help, I would suggest asking on the aristocraft forum. Its there engine so they should know what to do.

It looks like you need to remove the screw from the centering wire, then simply unscrew the coupler. I think you’ll need the replacement couplers that were (hopefully) included.
