Bill the pond is great. You have some awesome LONG trains. The daylight looks fantastic especially going across the water.
Have you had any kind of issues that the outdoor folks raised about trains with weather problems, or track issues ? Anything that the indoor O guys don’t have?

Hi Tim, sorry for the late reply. Spring’s a’comin’, and there’s a LOT to do! (including putting in 3000’ of fence!)
The only special issues I can think of off hand are 1) using conductive grease on all electrical conections ie; track joiners, and sealing wire connections with liquid electrical tape. 2) putting power to the track every 4 to 5 sections. Run your wire in a home run under the track with 14 guage wire, then bring up to wired track joiners. 3) don’t run them in the rain. 4) Have a shady area to stop the trains in when your taking a break. I havn’t had any paint fading issues, and don’t intend to have any. And 5) I clean the track about every other day using hand, and track cleaning equipment described above, as well as a little paint thinner on the pick-up rollers, and wheels on engines, and rolling stock, with a q-tip after about 20 hours of running. It works real good, and is fast.
As for long trains, ya ought to see the big boy loaded up with about 80 cars! When you look out across the yard, it looks so real its scarry! I’ll post of pic of that next time its running.
