Lionel 2458 PRR Box Car

Does anyone here know if the postwar Lionel 2458 metal box car came with an insert? Or does the car simply slide into the box.

I have been told this Lionel car NEVER came with a box insert…but I want to make sure!

If anyone knows please let me know!

What style couplers does it have? Knuckle or box & pin? Greenberg’s price guide lists it as a X2458 from 1946 to 1949. Have not heard about box inserts being used during those years.
