I have the first issue Lionel annimated caboose. While the motor seems bullet-proof enough, my little brakeman’s lantern not longer works. I have to imagine that the lantern and figure are all one part. Any of you run into a burned-out LED running in the command environment?

Jon, is this the 6775 caboose? If so, the figure and lantern are a single part that can be replaced, refer to page 3 of the owners manual. I think the part number is 630-6729-010
The one I have is #36729, red body, black roof, and “LIONEL” under the first and second windows. The “Circle L” logo is under the cupola. Jon [8D]
Should be the same part, I pulled down both owners manual’s from Lionel web site. The earlier release was not set up for CC environment but notes you can replace the 12 volt interior lamp with an 18 volt unit. Second issue is set up for CC and has the 18 volt bulb in it with anote for the 12 volt lamp if you want to run in non command mode. The figure is the same on both units.

Thanks Chuck! I finally did dig under the layout and pull out the manual. Somehow it never found it’s way into my “Manual Book”, a big looseleaf with plastic pages I keep all that stuff in. I’m glad you know of a part supplier, because according to the Lionel web site they have exactly 25 parts in inventory! Jon
