Lionel O gauge jet snow blower video

Didn’t see no smoke!!

Very informative. I have seen these at train shows and thought they were a little strange, but this article explains the history of this car.

Ok. Looks a bit boring to operate. Ok idea. Need real snow to test it good.

Hi Bob I think this would be good for any layout .nice piece.

Great demo. Couldn’t see the “exhaust” when it was pointed out.

Show the snowblower really blowing something, especially since many layouts are so realistic. Bob points out that the snowblower would not be heard if the engine’s sound were on. So, show it at work blowing something. Place debris on the track to be blown away. . . . The article mentions somethink about smoke. Where is it?

CTT is not, I imagine, in the business of just promoting Lionel. After all, an MTH engine pushes the snowblower!

hard to see the smoke but great model good for a winter scenery layout

I have had the MOW version of this for several months. The guys in my local O gauge group really enjoyed it when I brought it on show-and-tell night once.

Steve, it does not actually BLOW anything off the track… it is visual effect.
As for the smoke production, I use JTs Mega Steam in this unit and it really “puts out.” The Lionel fluid supplies with the Jet Car offers only feeble production. That is what Bob must have used in the video.

Hard to see smoke. Like the sounds.

hard to see smoke.

I just purchased the MOW version with the expectation of modifying the fake lights with LED’s. Someone posted how to do this on the WEB, but the article it has since elasped into space. Does anyone have any info on how to accomplish this retro fit??? It was quite detailed and my kudo’s to the peron who painstakingly took the time to describe, photograph and provide the detailed wiring diagram showing EXACTLY how to do it. PLEASE HELP!!!

I just purchased the MOW version and was going to modify the fake lights with LED, based on an article I found on the WEB published by another modeler. It was an outstanding article with step-by-step instructions on how to wire the LED’s, But, alas, the article has since vanished. Is anyone aware of the article Ispeak of? If so, can you respond with a link or other means to convey the information??

Nice unit, really like the road name [NYC] Would like to see more smoke!! Great sound

I luv my N.Y.Central Snowblower car. Gives me pleanty of smoke and effect.
Is their any videos for the new lionel Green Machine engines that I can look at ?

wheres the smoke!! good job though

People, people! The Lionel jet snow blower emits PLENTY of smoke if you use MegaSteam. CTT likely used the Lionel smoke fluid supplied with the snow blower when they did this video. Admittedly, the smoke stream is poor here. This is one of the most creative and enjoyable pieces of operating rolling stock that Lionel has produced in the modern era. You will not be disappointed!!
