Anybody know what the going price is for the Lionel Phantom Set? What catalog it was in?

The last model of the Phantom, ver #3, was in the 2003 vol 2 catalog. Personally I love the sounds from these units and think they would make a great halloween loco even if they had to drop the TMCC to help keep the cost down as long as it still had those great sounds. As far as pricing, the few that I have bid on at various auction sites have always exceded what I was willing to pay, never saw one go for less then the $280’s and up and the matching passenger cars were even higher.
Origina release was in the 1998 catalog. There was a second release that I am trying to track down.
I’ve never heard it run. Just thought it looked interesting. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for one. I’m on a Low budget, so it’ll be a piece at a time I suppose.

I have a TMCC BEEP and I even contacted Jon at ERR to see if a Phantom sound chip, if available, would work. Alas, the answer was no. The chip would not be compatable with the board. I was hoping to turn the BEEP into a halloween loco.
