Hi !!
First time here - bt 1st question…
My son purchased a remote-control switch in order to move trains to 2 different tracks, and it will not operate. Power supply is good / tracks are tight - but when power is turned on - flip the switch - and it just buzzes… All connections in right by the book - but it just won’t change Any ideas for the "new guy " ???
You may want to post in the Toy Train forum.
It’s a Lionel selenoid switch that is sticking. It’s getting AC power - that’s why it is buzzing.
Is it worth repairing? Open up, lube, and re-rivet. It’s probably a rusted iron slug wrapped in a wire coil. When it stops buzzing - you’re in trouble. The coil is shot.
DONT hold the swich lever down too long. Most coils don’t like 16 Volts AC.
