i’m starting to check my remote tracks and have all lionel, got it all hooked up,it uncouples fine. but when i run my marx log unloader over it, the power is constant.are marx automatic cars compatible with lionel or do i have it hooked up wrong.i have tried every combination on the transformer.thanx for any help, john
John, looks like you found the diagram lionelsoni was talking about. That should straighten up the wiring questions. Do you have a lionel operating car you can use to check the unloader? One of my remote tracks uncouples but doesn’t seem to have the power to unload.
I haven’t had time to take it out, clean it, and reinstall, but that’s probably the problem with mine.

hey w scout, that’s just it i have too much power and the button doesnt work, just for uncoupling. When i run the marx car over it,it just goes crazy.Dont have a lionel action car and i took it apart and cleaned it! John
johnnyt, MARX had their own unique style of couplers that do not work over a Lionel uncoupling track. And I would suspect the same with the MARX operating car. I’m not expert on all MARX stuff, but the operating cars I’ve seen from MARX worked manually.
Years ago I picked up a box of MARX track, and they made some sort of manual operating track. Maybe if you rephrase your question and change it to something pertaining to MARX operating cars and couplers, you’ll get some better advice. Also be sure to desribe the MARX car as best you can.
MARX Trains were always the poor cousin of Lionel. And yet, for all their supposed cheapness, they are ingenious in their simplicity and years later even after abuse and storage, many still work or can be given some TLC and brought back to life.

the marx car is a log dump car and the contact shoe actually touches the lionel uncoupler magnet!
Does the car perhaps look like this:
