Excellent issue! Bought it at Barnes & Noble Labor Day weekend. Enjoyed all of it. Best article was on the Alaska set. Hard to pick best photo.

I received my copy aout a month ago. I really enjoyed reading it. I was 13 years old in 1955 and had gotten my first Lionel set # 2141WS for Christmas in 1949. I enjoy looking at pictures of the train sets and the photos of the Lionel showroom layouts. The text of the articles was very informative and I learned a lot from it. Thanks for a great magazine.

I’m only about half done reading it but I am enjoying it very much. I love the history of toymakers as I have loved toys to this day. I am 66 and just haven’t grown up yet, I guess.

I ordered mine and received it a few weeks ago. I find it fascinating to read about the various behind the scenes machinations of Lionel’s executives in their attempts to dominate the toy train racket, however my favorite article is “The Plan That Launced 1,000 Layouts.” Even though I was a Flyer kid I spent many happy hours analyzing that illustration and tracing the train routes with my finger.

As far as favorite pictures I’m a big passenger train fan, so the photos of The Congressional, The Super Chief, and the Canadian Pacific streamliner did the trick for me.

I don’t consider myself much of a history fan, mainly because it has been repeating itself since the beginning of recorded time (kinda boring), but thanks to your “Golden Years” books and the showroom layouts book I find myself somewhat interested in Lionel history. As a former American Flyer kid I wish you would write a book about that company’s history.

I saw it on the stands, flipped through it & said to myself “Ehh” & put it back. Nothing really jumped out at me, but I do have a suggestion for the staff, I’ve seen O Gauge Railroading publish Christmas issues of the magazine with special sections on reader’s old family photos of their Christmas layouts. A special feature magazine for the holidays similar to the book “Toy Train Memories” would be great. I’d like to contribute some of my photos for something like that.

I got mine at the local Walmart. I’ve gone thru it three times. Love it from front to back! I missed getting the first book.

I fiiiiinallyyyyy got my copy yesterday at my LHS!

In short: I’m loving it! [bow] As usual I seem to be learning at least one new thing in every paragraph! I really liked the story about the Storytown display, I’d never heard of it before. I’m just starting to read “Black Sheep of the 1958 Roster” so I still have a bit to go, but so far it’s been hard to put down! Excellent work as always Roger! [tup]
