Lionel transformer post

Wire connection has broken off post and post must be replaced. Any suggestions on how to remove 1 post from bakelite mounting panel.

Which transformer is this–Lionel has made quite a number of transformers over the years?

Welcome aboard hughward! :blush::locomotive:

It’s a SW, pretty old, one control did not work and I found that the tab that was riveted(?) to the screw lug embedded in bakelite had broken off. I want to rermove the stud and replace with a new but it seems impossible to remove with pliers and too flimsy and unattached to try to drill

Thanks. I’m sorry to say that I don’t know what the best option here would be; some small (and useless) part of my brain would try to reuse the stud, but that likely wouldn’t work. I have no idea if it would be helpful or not, but Youtube put this in my “recommended videos” today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5rynnR3m3g

A photo would help, but in general, after pulling out the old post you can use a bolt on replacement post like this, T-159 & T-160 Binding Post & Nuts for Lionel Transformers | eBay
