I have my name on a UP FEF-3 (the gray one, Lionel) and it’s finally coming in. But after hearing nothing but good reports about the BB, I wonder if I should go the extra $500 bucks or so for the BB. For those of you that have the BB, Give me your thoughts. Is it easy for one of you to show me a video of the BB and the whistle they have. Is it a deep throat whistle? This would help me make up my mind. Thanks.

Go for it . I have the BB and am getting the FEF in black. The BB is great from being big to great smoke output. Hope the FEF is as good.

If you have the clearance of scenery and the curves to handle it, as LAZ says, go for it. Outstanding steam engine [and I’m a diesel lover].
I am completely satisfied with my BB. I would post a video if I had that capability, but alas, sorry.
The whistle is impressive to say the least.
If I had to list something in the negative column, it would be that it looks a little uncomfortable on 0-72 curves, with the front going very wide on the turn. 0-200 or so should do the trick![:D]
