Watched a little show on the dish last night. It was about an hour long. Michael Landon was the producer I believe. (You have to kind of reach back to the Gunsmoke and Bonanza series of the 60’s and 70’s)
He and his ranching partner showed up at the grainery and was offered 7 cents a bushel for thier harvest. It was not the 34 cents that they made last year. So thier hard work is pretty much non-profit and winter is coming. (Reason was overabundance of grain harvest)
They were directed to the hiring hall for a railroad job. The railroad signed them on at 100.00 each hauling a wagon full of nitro into the wilderness.
Without giving the rest of the show away, I have to point out that the 4-4-0, boxcar, flatcar and two passenger cars were nicely done in the movie. I have no idea what they used for the movie train but they did a excellent job on it.
On a non related subject, did you see the Trailer for “The Legend of Zorro”?Pretty cool Steam Train, plus the Lovely Catherine Zeta Jones Douglas!!WhooWhoo!!!
