Locked out of news wire

If I am reading the tea leaves correctly -

There is no longer any ‘Trains Newswire’.

Look for TrainsPro

Unless they have News Wire bookmarked, News Wire is not even an option any longer.

I haven’t had any issues.

Am still having problems

Today I was finally able to log in and be recognized. I was able to look at the first Pro/NewsWire article, but when I tried to look at a second article I got the 400 error. Went back to trains.com an hour later, was automatically logged in, got to read one more article. Again got a 400 error when I tried to read a second article. It might take a while to catch up on 2 weeks of News articles I missed.

I only wish that was true for this poster. Had that one day last week but now even cannot get to trains basic web site. I live SW of ATL but my internet is routed through Columbus ga. Anyone else in this area with same problem??

BTW tried another commuter at another location same problem. makes one wonder if this is a location problem.

Still cannot access news wire / pro as of September 25

And what would you like forum members to do?

Nothing, I’m sure, unless the forum members are having the same issue and want to chime in. He’s noting, for moderators or other Firecrown people on the forums, that there is a problem and it hasn’t been resolved yet.

Just contacted Customer Service. Gentleman said they are aware that having problems with some subscribers and are working on the problem. Call back tomorrow and problem will be fixed. IMO very skeptical with this long standing problem as have been promised several calls that problem will now be fixed.

Dear sir,

Trains.com is undergoing website maintenance that is expected to last a couple of weeks. During this time, while you will not be able to login to your account on the site, you will still be able to access all the great content you love!

Following the completion of the maintenance, you will be required to reset your password in order to return to your normal user experience. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Thank you for being a valued part of our Trains.com community!

I have bookmarks for the Trains Newswire and Trains Pro.

No matter which bookmark I use it takes me to Trains Pro.

Newswire has been REPLACED by Trains Pro (and I have no doubt that any links or bookmarks will be redirected to that site).

I have to date (about 1:45 Sunday morning) not seen any e-mail about site maintenance – that does not mean they aren’t doing it. We’ll know when none of us can post for a week or so… this is not like the old Kalmbach days of wretched memory when we had no idea of the problems.

Part of the work Nick et al. will likely be doing is on precisely what your difficulty is. I suspect there are residual issues from when we were all supposed to register new Trains passwords back last December or whenever – there were multiple sets of credentials running around in the old site security, and I would not be surprised if there is not that issue now.
