Locomotive is totally dead

Hi every one, I just got my Broadway Limited NYC Hudson J1e for 2 weeks and suddenly it is totally dead after derailing on a switch. Any one can help me out? Thanks a lot and happy holidays.

Clean all the locomotive and tender wheels. Then check all the electrical contacts to see if they still function. Be sure the tender is plugged secure to the engine. If only slightly loose, it won’t run.

If all else fails, send it to me! If nothing else it would look nice sitting on my desk!!!

CALL 911 !!!

I’ve heard about certain problems regarding the electrical circuit in early BLI locomotives. I forgot exactly where I heard this and how to fix it, I would try the Broadway Limited website and/or contact them.

Don’t call 911, call Broadway!

And don’t do anything that will void your warrenty !!!

For THAT much money, THEY should fix or replace it !!!

[:0] I’m in agreement. Call 'em up ASAP.

take the shell off and unplug the jumper plug, apply power with the plug unplugged, plug the jumper plug back in with the power off. hope ths helps.

Unplug the plug and plug the plug into the plug to plug…argh!

I wonder if the fall onto the electrified rails of the switch caused a short circuit internally? I understand decoders can be blown that way. [%-)]
