Locomotive photo websites?

Hi,

I was wondering where you find your locomtive photos. I know about railpictures.net but are there any other good ones? I am searching for a specific loco and they don’t have very good pics of it.

Thanks,

Andrew

Just google the loco your looking for. Road name, #, type. You should get a few sites come up.

There is a good site for older locomotive pictures, rrfallenflags.org I think. Just go to nmra.org, click for their railroad web sites links, it’s in there somewhere.

Here’s the link:

Try Railroad Picture Archives at http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/. They have photos organized by roster.

Greg

I know of a few…

http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/

http://www.steamrailroadphotos.com/photopost/

http://www.toltecimages.com/complist.html

http://photos.nerail.org/byrailroad/

http://www.northeast.railfan.net/home.html

That’s about all I know of right off the top of my head that haven’t been mentioned.

One of the best I know

www.mountainrailway.com

for CPR photos.

I really like www.locophotos.com because the photos tend to focus on the locomotive alone and not so much the scenery around it. Also when you get to it you can link to their sister site that covers railcars and MOW equipment! This site has thousands of pictures of interesting freight cars that just waiting to be modeled.

As said above rrpicturearchieves.net is a great place. It is where I have post a lot of my photos. They except any picture, that is why mine are there and not at the other places.
