Looking for a HO 2101 Chessie Steam Special

Hi, I was wondering if the is still any sellers selling a HO 2101 Chessie Steam Special. Alos, I know that BLI makes it, but is there any other brand that make a HO Chessie Steam Special? I am looking forward to a response.

Broadway Limited is the only company that has brought out a Reading T-1 painted as Chessie Steam Special #2101 in HO scale. They show up on eBay from time to time, but not as often as #2101 painted as American Freedom Train #1.

BLI brought it out under both its own name and BLI’s Precision Craft name, so you’ll increase your chances of finding one by looking for it under that name, too.

Having said that, I can think of at least two other HO steam locomotives that have been produced in Chessie System paint, but neither one looks remotely like #2101. The first was a Mehano 2-8-2 imported by AHM in the late 1970s/early 1980s. The second was Bachmann’s GS-4 4-8-4 that they ran in Chessie paint at about the same time. Neither of them has any basis in reality, and the 2-8-2, to my eye at least, didn’t look particularly convincing.

Now if someone would just tool up a C&O J3a 4-8-4 for the Chessie Safety Express…

Thank you. I have 2 Chessie Steam Special IHC passenger cars. I’ve been fascinated by the Chessie Steam Special since I wrote a school report about Chessie System a few years ago. But unfortunately, money doesn’t come fast for me becuase I’m 14 and get a $20 allowance. But I am still interested in a Chessie Steam Special, but I must first get a DCC system.
