looking for a ho scale proto 2000 Sd9 Burlington northern, and 40' modern walthers tank cars?/ Help

Please help me find a sd9 bn engine p2k , and thewalthers tanks

Archerd,

If you’re patient, units like these regularly pop up on Ebay. Check it daily. In the Search Box, type in Proto 2000 HO SD9 and do a search. Then, save that search to My Favorites. Don’t be too specific by typing Burlington Northern. Some sellers don’t even bother listing the railroad name and will just list the locomotive type.

Now for your Walthers item, go to the Walthers website and type in the item you’re looking for in the search box. It helps if you have a part number. A screen will pop open showing the hobby shops that last ordered the item. You can then phone or e-mail those shops and see if they have those items still in stock. At the same time, you can inquire about the P2K unit. Takes time, but it can also pay off. I used this method recently and found a “hard to find” Walthers building that was discontinued a couple of years back. Turns out one of the hobby shops listed was just an hour drive from my house.

So, don’t give up! Do your homework.

Peace.

Ummm…he got his account suspended, remember? (sorry to remind you, archerd)

06archerd, if you have Copernic on your computer than try a simple search like “Proto 2000 SD9” or “Walthers tank car”.[:D]

Yea, eBay is your perfect solution. Ever bin there? It’s really cool.

Sorry Archer,

Forgot about your ebay situation. Hope you don’t think I was poking fun at you and that situation is resolved. As far a purchasing, one quick solution that can help you if you see something you want on ebay is to get a friend to try and win an item for you. You just simply pay him or her for the item. I’ve done this with a good friend of mine in the past several times. No problems.

06Archerd - are you anywhere near a decent LTS? I know of at least two in the Portland, OR area that either have theWalther’s tanks (saw them on Saturday) or probably have them.

If you are looking for corn syrup cars, the Atlas 17.3k ones are a much nicer car, albeit at a somewhat higher price.

Just sign up for another Ebay account. Its not like they ever check your age.
