Looking for Review of Spectrum's Baldwins

Anybody want to give me a review of their Spectrun’s Baldwin 4-6-0s?

It would be great to hear from individuals who have personal experience running them.

Thanks

I have a Spectrum ‘High Boiler’ version of the 4-6-0. It converts to DCC with no problem, and runs very smooth. The only problem is that it does not have great pulling power. 5-6 NMRA weighted frt cars up my 2.7% grade is about all it will pull. I suppose 10-12 cars on the level might be a good estimate.

I bought the “low boiler” version last week (had to fit on a 9" turntable). Compared to the P2k 0-6-0, I do not consider it a good value. The electrical pickups are cheap (difficult to adjust properly and flimsy) no rear light, and the front light is so dim that you can’t tell that it is on from behind the train in a dark room.

The engine is running on my layout and will continue to be used. It does run smoothly, even though there is a large difference in speed between forward and reverse. It did convert easily to DCC; however installing sound in the small tender could prove to be a challenge. I bought the unlettered version and liked it enough to letter it for my RR. It does pull 4 cars up my 2% curvy grade (which is all that I ask it to do).
