Where can I buy MAAS in Canada? Nobody here seems to have heard of it.
BB
I tried a half dozen stores and auto parts places in my area, they also didn’t have MAAS, I ended up using Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. Seems to be working pretty good. Just a thought.
Any good metal polish cleaner could(?) do the job. You might look for FRITZ, a similar product that I found in (of all places) the paint dept at Home depot.
Also automotive polishing compound, not the rubbing compound will also remove oxidation.
Works well on my rusted car bumper.
Unfortunately their web site www.maasinc.com doesn’t tell you where to get it. Ignore those prices.
It’s cheaper than they advertise. I paid $3.50 at wal-mart.
well I live in Ontario and I have actually seen it in Zehrs grocery stores, but I use flitz which is avaiable at Home Hardware

Well, from the reference to Mother’s Mag and Aluminum Polish I can surmise that MAAS is for brightening up polished metal but what use does it have in model railroading?
Any metal polish should work just fine. We use Nevr-Dull Magic Wadding Polish on our club layout’s track. MAAS and many other metal polishes are a two-stage process – you rub on the polish, let it dry to a haze, and then have to wipe it off. Nevr-Dull is a one-step application, and lasts for up to six months between cleanings in a building with no heating or air conditioning.
Look in an automotive supply store for mag wheel cleaner.
BTW, the other polish’s name if FLITZ, not Fritz.
Oops
Just because it wasn’t made for model railroading doesn’t mean it’s not applicable.
MAAS cleans, polishes and delays oxidative degradation on most metals.
To think I paid $66.00 for a centerline car & $99.00 for Tony’s clean machine.
Thank you MR, January 2003.
Bookworm,
They use it to clean track. Apparently much easier and longer lasting than a brightboy. I haven’t tried it yet though.
Ahhhhh. Now I understand. I would have thought residue left on the track would cause problems but I bow to more experienced hands. Some where here I have a tin of Never-Dull. Will that work as well?
I have an un-opened can in my****nal of cleaners. I think cacole of this forum may have tried it. Perhaps he may jumb aboard.
Oops cacole has, scroll up.
