Magazine Binders

For the last couple of decades I have always put the magazines in the red binders that were available. I just went to order some more and realized that they no longer have them listed. Does any have any idea where I can get some more? Any idea if they will restock them? I see the ones for Classic Trains available.

Be careful what you wish for. Starting in 1963, I bound decades of MR, RMC, Trains, Classic Trains, Railpace, NMRA, and several no longer published. I carted them through several moves and the last one was just too much. I filled the bed of my pickup and headed to the local NPR auction, unloaded before they knew what was happening, and fled. I believe they did quite well on them.

I threw away the binders decades ago in favor of these cardboard holders:

They hold more and are very affordable. The magazines are in order, but I fill each holder comfortably full to save space. You are looking at nearly complete Model Railroader from the late 40’s thru 1997 on this one little bookcase.

I’ve been consolidating my RR club’s magazine collection, we use the cardboard boxes too, and have found several of the green Model Railroader binders, with magazines, that we’re probably going to get rid of next year. I don’t remember seeing any, but I’ll check if we have any red Trains Magazine binders. We only keep Model Railroader and Model Railroad Craftsman, so if we have them someone donated them to us.

I’ve got about a dozen binders that I don’t know what to do with, as we’re downsizing in preparation for a move. I was thinking of just tossing them, but if you want them maybe we can figure out how to get them to you.

EDIT: Took inventory, I have 15 binders. Two of them have been emptied (magazines were recycled), but the other 13 still contain full collections of Trains Magazines for 1995, 1997, and 1999 through 2009.

Hi Dough, a few years ago, the vendor who printed those stopped offering that service. Right now, the only ones available are the plain black ones: Blank Magazine Binder – Trains.com Store

I use old issues!

I used mine all the time. Used them for reading, too.

I would have taken them, or even bought them (albeit at a low price–I’m still a cheapskate).

Yeah… unless your friend was in the ND area, no way could I have gotten those. :frowning:

I no longer have the binders or the magazines contained therein. A local acquaintance found out I had them and wanted them all.
