Hard to say which is more moronic. Tagging
the cars or getting hit by a train. I’d say its a
tie!
Too bad…so sad…NOT!
Karma wins again.
Tag! Your it! Some of the graffiti i’ve seen is actually quite good. If these yahoos would put their creativity into a legal occupation, they could probably do pretty well in life.
He would have never been able to get this close to operations had he been carrying a camera!
Two bad it was just one and not an entire “tagging crew.”
What poorly done graffiti mural could have been so important for this idiot to get killed for? Call me insensitive, but I can’t say I feel bad for him. Graffiti is ugly and most of what I’ve seen is just composed of ugly images and uncomprehendable words that only indicate just how low the IQ of some of these people are.
The train played tag and it win.
Another winner of the Darwin Award.
I feel much more for the crew in the cab who has to witness some moron “creating a work of art” waste his life .
Waiting to hear about a law suit…
Regarding Jim Norton’s comments, I hope you feel that way when one of these cretins tags something on your property. Its ridiculous to think that rail companies could police thousands of miles of track. They’d need a police force in the tens of thousands, and every single thing you purchase, that is delivered using rail, would cost 100 times more than it does now.
As a retired career railroader, I have no sympathy for him. He was one of those criminals responsible for making a mess (in the name of art) by painting nearly every piece of railway equipment on the continent, and often, many other locations on property, public or private. Looking at all that crap everywhere makes me sick. It reflects a total lack of class. There are plenty of forums for protest, self promotion, and free expression through art, that don’t involve destroying property.
He may not deserve it, but he or any other person out there doing this crap is a disgrace.
This man died of his own selfish foolishness. Is life worth giving up for a few cheap little spray cans?
All that for a can or two of paint
stupid does what stupid is. Too bad the fella had to get himself killed proving it.
He got a lot more than what he deserved. To die in war you become a hero, to die in disgrace is a useless waste. Hopefully this will send a message to other taggers that they need to find a better use for their talents.
Seen from across the pond (Norway) I have a question.
This poor fellow obviously was trespassing. Several of you mention that UP will be sued. Why? He was in the wrong place, did the wrong thing. The train with its crew was where it was supposed to be.
