Does this mean that the current Amtrak depot in the Midway area of St. Paul will be closed, or will we now have two Amtrak depots and twice the operating costs for our one train each day in each direction?

The Midway Station is closing.

With SPUD getting Amtrak service, if leaving Midway Station is out of the question then some kind of intermodal station really needs to be developed in Minneapolis. As great a thing as it is that SPUD is being reopened to passenger trains and other modes as well, it still doesn’t seem right that the only Amtrak station in the Twin Cities is is going to be in ST. Paul.
