March Coffee Pot, 14 years and still going. Green beer for all those above the Mason-Dixon, green grits for those below.

Light rain and 52 today so a day of rest.

Yesterday’s progress,

Think I will replace the north and south stringers because they are soft the face plate was trashed. Then I will pressure wash and stain the frame before putting down the new deck wood. Maybe pre paint all of the wood first.

Good morning folks!

Did not get the amount of rain predicted yesterday. Just some gentle showers. Fine with me as I put out a bunch of grass seed in a shady area between the house and a tree. Storms would have washed away. By next rain new grass should take hold. Sunny this am. Cool, nice!

Interesting item - our niece’s MIL is stuck on that crippled Norwegian/Viking cruise ship off the coast of Norway, awaiting helicopter evacuation.

Also spent the later part of yesterday causally sorting/tossing/cleaning up my office/shop areas.

Kev - glad the deck project is going well!

Good morning all, slow news day here. Going to my Dixieland Jazz club today. Dinner out last night with friend for Mexican food. I missed the last TTOS meet but no great loss for me.

That cruise ship in distress in Norway is scary. Hope they got everybody off OK. Those ships always look top heavy to me.

[sigh] Face it, the hardest part about moving, is those we leave behind. For us, it’s been the grandboys. They just left, and we are now cleaning up. But not everything. Ms. Kelly will leave the face and finger prints on the big picture window (at least for a week of two). FifeMax can barely move from all the “floor scraps”. Oldest boy made a video of the train room, so I posted it under SPF.

Howdy all!

Yesterday was a throw away day, just down with that cold I caught from Linda. Funny, I think she picked up a second cold at work: about 2 weeks ago Corey came down with one from school, I caught it, then Linda caught it last weekend. She’s had it the whole week, and then I started coming down with a second cold on Friday. And now Tyler’s caught it.

Baking Toll House Cookies with Corey right now. He’s taking the first batch off the tray - mmmmmmmmm!

The Christmas Layout comes down today. Corey and I ran the trains yesterday, will run them one last time today before putting them away. Also packed away the train tree yesterday, so that’s now up in the attic.

Time for another gooey Toll House Cookie just out of the oven!

Rutgers won two individual National Championships at the NCAA Wrestling Championships last nigt, Nick Suriano at 133 pounds and Anthony Ashnault at 149 pounds. Congratulations to both!

Have a good one!

Good evening all,

Not the best weekend. Did my practice run. Water was turned off where I was and I ran out of my own. Came home, ate 3 small pieces of pizza and promptly lost it all. Did a 3:29:26, which was under 16 minute (barely), but slept all night and most of Sunday. Really was not pushing it either ( I thought ). Kind of discouraging. Listened to Indy car race. Colton Herta led a string of 4 American drivers across the finish line for his first win at 18. TK salvaged a 12th due to a yellow flag that pushed Mattheus backed to 17th. I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin’ all!

Another night’s sleep interrupted by shoulder pain, this time around 2. Popped some Advil and managed to get back to sleep. Was gonna walk the hill this morning, but will instead jump back in bed for an hour after Corey’s out the door. Doing a light shoulder workout while I wait for him to get ready.

Never did get the Xmas layout down yesterday, we’ll work on it this week.

Have a good one all!

Good Morning,
Been awhile (again). Not much going on here, in the past week did complete a couple of tasks;

  • Completed and filed state sales taxes (for our company)
  • Completed and filed fed and state income taxes
  • Continued support for Kay and her parents, spent 2 1/2 days shuttling back and forth to Drs appts. etc.

Helped move Chris back to So Cal, doing some temporary storage for a couple of months until he gets his feet on the ground. I did end up with a mini refrig, got it situated and running under the layout.

Don’t have a lot going on today, (except another appointment).

Kev, Those pictures are fantastic!! Really great area.

Take care all !!

Hi guys,

Deck progress is slow but sure. Washed it yesterday and it looks good. Cut all the 16’ old boards down to 8’ today and put them on Brain’s fire pile. Then cleaned up out back. I think I will get some Sherwin Williams Super deck solid stain to match what I had and is on the porch posts on the shed. It is 30% off till the end of the month. I can’t stain till I know it will not go below freezing for a few days.

Thanks Don, it will look a lot better out here in a month or so once the woods come back to life. [;)] Sounds like you have plenty going on.

Well could not afford a new Gator so gave this one a new set of seats. She don’t look bad for 14 years and 2,457.9 Hours.

Hey, Happy Monday…

First thing this morning, IT decided it was a really bright to redo the Wifi without telling me…and nothing worked. So,fortuneately my former IT guy was here and set everything right and been playing catchup ever since.

Need to make a stop at Hobby Lobby for some green turf, Michael’s doesn’t have enough and some liquid glue. That will be for the spray, the turf I got at Michael’s doesn’t quite like the glue.

I did clean the upstairs somemore and now I can walk around it a bit more. The rope light is mounted on 1x3 boards and attached to the trusses. It’s more stable an shows more light. So, all in all there is some progress.

Fife - THANK YOU for that great personal tour of your layout by the grand pup!! Very nice and entertaining!!

Just starting to rain here, sun was out for a while and was warm, now rain and colder… Have to get back to work - a quick update was done on the YouTube.

Back later!!

Hello There,

check out Fife’s video on SPF. It’s Great.

Kev…that looks like quite the project.

Son bought 3 feeders Saturday. A hereford bull and hiefer. Also a holstein steer. All about 400lbs each. Took us a couple hours to get the barn ready and get them settled.

Spent yesterday at a twirling competition. Girls didn’t do so well this time. 3rd in their trio, grandaughter was 3rd in her solo and 4th in the strut. It was a long day. We got lunch about 430.

Mrs got the crud I had last week and stayed home today. I’m still not motoring to good so didn’t do much today

Off to bed soon.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work. Windy weather for walking. Enjoyable evening at home with one of the granddaughters as we did puzzles and watched “A Bug’s Life”. Got the regular issue of CTT and the six Scout type cars I ordered. All looks good. I hope everyone has a good day.

After Vintage senors group at church I get my income taxes figured, wish me luck.

Sun and 40s today. Pretty much the normal for here.

York is closing in but I’m not going this year. It’s the one time I get to see out of town train nuts so I will miss that.

S.J.

Morning folks!

Another sunny day but quite a bit cooler due to DougM’ and Buckeye’ leaving the freezer door open. 46 right now and maybe 60 today. Same on tap for next 3 days…

Got word the nieces MIL got off the ship ok after it got towed to port. Interesting it was reported 3 of 4 engines were operational. The Viking Sky is just 2 years old…sounds like they need to go back to the drawing board!

Been sorting through stuff, took some older cordless tool batteries (no longer available) to Batteries+Bulbs to see about getting them rebuilt. They are able to rebuild NiCad packs if there are screws holding the case together. They do not rebuild Lithium Ion battery packs. Said they are too dangerous to handle/possibly catch fire during the lead welding process…that’s comforting. I have this really nice Black and Decker drill that I wanted to rescue, but the NiCad batt case is pinned. They said if I could get the case apart they would try to build a battery for it. So got the Dremel out and cut it open and then modified it for screws. Darn case had 3 large (3/16 in dia - 1 in long) double ended drive pins (they really did not want anyone to open them up) to hold the case halves together.

Phish…Did you catch the article about the layout in Circleville, Ohio?

Sunny and bright in the Valley today.

Good moring all,

Forgot to post last night. Worked on another puzzle with granddaughter. She really likes doing those. I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin’ all!

Tyler’s going in late today, so I got up for nothing. Getting Corey out the door then getting back to bed. Another bad night with this shoulder, I’m getting to the point where I don’t know what to do. Nothing seems to help, I’ll be fine when I go to bed, but an hour or two later it’s aching like crazy. Frustrating.

Had some takeout stuff for dinner last night for my birthday, Linda’s off today, so we’re supposed to have more of a dinner and celebration tonight. Only problem is that work’s doing a rollout tonight at 10, so I just left her an email so that she plans accordingly.

Still cold in the morning, low to mid 20’s. C’mon Spring!

Have a good one!

Mornin’ boys. Sunny but brisk along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Dealing with some sinus stuff today. Had rules class all day yesterday at the local communuty college, so I probably touched the wrong door handle…

Morning folks!

Another beautiful start to the day. We are having a typ spring with nice cool/crisp temps (high 40’s/low 50’s) in the morning and pleasant temps (high 60’s/low 70’s) in the afternoon. Seems past years we would jump from winter to summer. And this weekend thanks to SJ, DougM, and Buckeye, we will get another cool jolt to below normal temps for several days…ahhhhhh [8D]

DJ - hope the shoulder gets better soon!
