I have one grandson with an LGB set and one with a Marklin set. I would like to set up a layout for both to use at my house. I have tried AristoCraft track but the Marklin engine power contact catches on the turnouts and derails. Any suggestions for compatable track/turnouts?
Why would you use a third companies track with two other brands of trains? We had a store and carried LGB and Marklin. I had LGB running on a Marklin track but not with switches. Since Marklin provides two chips with their locomotives 1 for AC(Marklin) and 1 for DC(other brands) you could actually use the LGB transformer to run either locomotive with that transformer. Try a close by hobby shop to find out the perfoooormance of an LGB on Marklin stainless steel track. It’s reasonable too.

45mm is 45 mm except for some differences in turn outs. Why use a third manufacturers product? Price. Coupler compatability is another issue. Marklin may have a built in sales problem because regardless of their excellent history and technical charm, they are the new kids on the North American block as far as Gauge 1 goes. Scarlet, do you have a store or web site and have you considered how much more expensive stainless steel track is relative to brass?
