May Day Coffee Pot. Sweet Ice tea and sandy grits. For those with teeth, donuts and coffee.

RIP Barry.

Jim,

When I was a young lad of 5, we would board the NYC in Lafayette, IN and then climb aboard the B&O at Cincinnati’s Beautiful Union Terminal for the remainder of the trip on the National Limited to Baltimore to see my grandparents. I vividly recall seeing banners for the “Red Legs” hanging from the walls of the terminal.

In 2010 one of the tours for an engineering conference was a tour of Union Terminal’s roof structure. Hidden in the south side of the r

Good evening all,

Nice pictures, Buckeye. Sorry to hear about BOC. Got a lot of financial “stuff” done today. Busy day planned for tomorrow. Will vote, hopefully mow again, have another foot check, watch a tennis match and go to a movie. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Phish, During my short tenure with the B&O I spent some time at the C.U.T. moving cars around, especially Railway Exp.

Buckeye, On your way down to Cinncy if you pass thru Milford how about laying a wreath at the front door of what used to be Davis Trains. [:'(] [swg]

Rest in Peace, Barry…such a shame…you will be missed.

Princess returns June 27th or so. Details to be worked out and plans finalized. Now, to find a house and make it a home…

Raining here with thunder and lightning.

Interview tomorrow at 11…

Sleep well my friends…

Good Evening,

Really sorry to hear of BOC, but at least he isn’t suffering. May he rest in peace!

The pictures of the Cincy station are great, those stations were some fantastic building! Thanks for sharing Buckeye!

Doug, I’ve been thinking more and more about the Docent position, and I’m sure I would enjoy it. The only thing is that it is 40 miles one way, but it still would be fun, and a good usage of time. Need to get the Dr’s layout done first, and probably another one. So will see.

Had an eerie felling this morning, driving to the Dr’s, I go over 2 major bridges that span LB and LA Harbors, as well as Terminal Island. Its a good 10-12 mile span, anyway I was the only vehicle that I could see in front or behind me the entire trip! Wierd !

Not much new to report, did get home and Kay was washing the El Camino, hmmm, wonder what’s up?

Take care and be safe!!

Hello There,

Prayers for BOC’s family…

Don…what year is your El Camino? I have a '70 that I bought in '74

Prayers for those in need

Mornin’ All.

Back from my walk with the foster pooch. She’s pooped out and back to sleep.

Don, 40 miles ain’t to bad. That’s about the same as my drive, but I only make this drive a few times a week at most. Now if that Docent position is “volunteer” as opposed to paid at least the mileage is deductable. Keep that El Camino washed and waxed, that would be good for Friday night’s “Cruising Grand” down here, it sarted it’s summer run a couple of weeks ago. http://cruisingrand.com/events/calendar/upcoming How many years has it been since you and Chief dropped in ?

There’s always this excursion : http://www.traintrips.biz/2016-Tours/Santa-Fe-3751-Steam-Excursion-2016.php

Time to try to start moving.

Later all.

Good morning,

The outside faucet job is done and good to go and I made the 12" one fit when I found out I could not find the receipt to return it. So much for yesterday’s job.

49 heading to 65 with a mix of sun and clouds. Will be a fine day on the North Bluff.

Could not sleep last night, arms hurt no matter what I did, then about 2:00AM is remembered that I forgot to take the muscle relaxer pill the Dr. ordered for me to help with this Rotor cuff issue I have been fighting. Now at least I know they work. So I took one at 5:00AM and just got up at 8:20 and feel like I am in a cloud. We have turkeys here everyday now but only about 4 or 5 hens, not the flock of 35 we had. I think these have nested close by in the woods. They are awful brave. They don’t even run when I walk to the shed down the drive. They either just keep eating under the bird feeder or mosey off real slow.

Will be working on a water issue up at the front of the lane today. When It rains a lot the field on the other side of the street will run over the road because the 18" tube can’t take it all. When it does the water runs down the first 80’ of the lane and will wash everything into the creek on the west side of it. This happen twice last spring and it took two semi loads of gravel to repair it. The township road commissioner is a waste. So I have built the lane up higher at the front by the road and tapered the west side ground towards the creek. so if it over-tops it will just flow right into the creek in the first 20’ and should save the rest of the gravel. Got to trim some more trees and get some grass growing there. Will be using the Stihl with the saw blade to wipe out the little stuff

Tue 86 Wed. 79 Thur. 71 and a small chance of rain.

I liked the drag racing pictures Blownout used to post. He had good ones of the average guy with a fast car, the kind of drag racing I like.

This morning I forgot to check that the blue light was on on my WiFi before I want to get on the computer and I have time to do the unplug, plug in routine. And sure enough my Wi Fi didn’t work, and they want to have driverless cars, what a joke.

My phone switched from Verizon to Frontier and yesterday I got signed up so I can pay with my credit card, I’m quite proud of myself.

I have

Hope everyone is well. Sorry to hear about Barry.

Phish,

I wish you lived closer. Could use a hand with a SIT 322 Hudson that’s been giving me a run for my money.

Evening all, Not a lot going on here today. Thought I got rid of my light headness but seems to have came back today ( only when bending over or if I’m laying down when I turn over. )Well I see my DR. on the 20th so will talk to her about it then if it gets worst will go into ER.

I got a box of trains in today[:D] I won on the bay. Some are going north as I don’t do A.F. although they basically are parts or restore items.

Got a box engine frame in also but not sure What engine it is for. Well just figure out it’s for a 248 or engine like that. Guess will see if any takers for it on the bay. only missing one ladder of the frame and the front coupler, rear one is there but broke.

Hope all had a good day talk to you all later.

Evenin’ boys. Not much to report on. Fifepup picked up a part-time gig with West Marine (can you say employee discount…?). He still works full time with another maritime retailer as well. He’s doing just fine on his own, so I’m pretty proud of that. Middle Princess almost done her nursing schooling, and Hopkins wants to keep her on staff.

Banks - I’ll ask when I see him.

[angel] for BoC.

Good evening all,

Got four out of five on my list from yesterday done. Only missed on the movie and that was due to wife not feeling 100%. Cousin’s daughter won her tennis match and the mowing went about as I expected. I only need to lower the mower one more notch to get down to normal height. Doc says I am good to go for Saturday so now it is all on me. Was dry enough to mow today but more rain expected tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening all,

Quiet day here. Just took advantage of my new found rest with no care giving. Worked on pool a little but took a pass on running trains today. Youngest son’s wedding is fast approaching this coming Saturday. Picked up my new suit today. Just wish his mother could be there. He will be moving out so now with the wife in a nursing home and him gone, I will be alone for the first time in 57 years. Maybe I can do a few things on my bucket list now. Still have some airline miles if I can find a time to use them.

Ray

Good morning, Sunny but a cool 46 may get to 57.

Cup of Joe # 1 down.

Yesterday when Brian and I were cutting back the brush up at the end of the lane by the road so you can see the on-coming traffic I noticed that the ditch to the creek had eroded the dirt away from the first power pole that feeds the eight properties on the lane. It looks like the pole was put in years ago and was not close to the ditch but over the years the water has washed the dirt away. On one side of the pole the dirt is about three to four foot higher that the water side. I don’t know how far they put those things in but I bet there is not much left with dirt all the way around the bottom of the pole. So I called it in so the power co. so they can take a look and decide if it is a issue or not. Will be interesting to see what they say. Better they find out now than when the pole falls over and knocks out everyone’s power.

There is a Turkey hen feeding under the bird feeder as I type. We got just enough rain over night to set the fertilizer and grass seed I did yesterday. I have to go to the post office later but not much else on the plate today. RT is sending me some shells to blast for him.

Not much else.

Aloha. May the Fourth be with you on this Star Wars Day! Got home from work at 9 last night and this morning came too early. I will be stumbling through the day with the help of coffee. You were wise to call it in, Kev. At least that’s logged. Glad to hear your minions are doing well, Fife.

Morning all

Kevin package on it’s way. Sent you tracking number. Mail carrier hasn’t gotten here yet but it will be gone when she brings me a couple of packages I need ( parts)

No real plans for today need to get this room straightened up again thou. Hope all have a good hump day talk to you all later

Sorry to hear about BOC. R.I.P. Barry

Ray

No problem RT, I will let you know when they get here. Should only take a day or two to turn them around and send them back your way. [;)]
