Yes Fifey, ours are copperheads. Always good to have a nice black snake around.
Chief, I thought that was a NC politician. [(-D]
Cooled way down after a sparce .2" of rain yesterday. Low 60s. It helped but we need more.
Ins man from State Farm coming over to do a review of our Ins needs. At my request. First time ever here. We have had the place 16 years… What is wrong with this picture?
He said well we have good programs to help us know what you need. I said BS no way your program can know what we have. You just make sure you over charge to cover your a$$. [:(!]
Afternoon folks!
Storms last night with a little bit of actual rain at our house - other areas got a good soaking. Did not need it here. Back yard still a swamp. Did use the soft ground to pull some weeds - like it made any difference.
El Cam windshield is out. Now working on the remaining butyl rubber adhesive. Still somewhat soft but hard enough to make scraping it with a razor blade a challenge. Channel is not uniform so scraping is tedious. Very little rust!
Kev - I have never met my current State Farm agent of 20+ years - he actually declined to come out - I do have his cell - my previous agent before he passed came once a year. They make changing your agent a real pain.
Artists are a bit “different”. I know 'cause I’m one and I know I’m “different”. [;)] I stopped paying much attention in art class when a teacher gave me an F on a watercolor painting of Cinderella Castle I did because it was what I wanted to create with the supplies she gave me instead of what I was supposed to be doing. Similarly, I always accepted last chair in the band because I refused to compete for my right to make music. I just sat in the back row and played what the first chair was playing. [:-^]
We had plenty of rain and storms here today. It has eased up now.
I am more than happy to have all my insurance needs/wants satisfied virtually and never have to do an in-person meeting. I am happy we have the ability to buy cars this way too as I do not enjoy the car buying process and do not need a salesperson to tell me what I want/need.
Had a very good visit with Rick the Insurance guy. He learned things about us he did not know and I learned things I needed to know. Found out better ideas on train coverage and use of the John Deere Gator when I take it out of the property. He learned we had more than any program could consider. We were too much coverage on some and too little on other things. In person meetings with someone who is a “service provider” can never be replaced by a computer program and today proved that. But those 40 something’s like my kid and others think they know better about everything, but then in my 40s I knew much more than I do today. [(-D]
Roy, our agent used to visit every now and then but when we moved 40 miles away, he tried to go virtual and today said that has been a mistake. All in all, I don’t see a big change in the bills but I know where I stand at least now I know why. I think a lot of what is wrong today is the we have given up the human touch. To those who like it otherwise, go for it. Seems a shame, but goes to social media and hiding behind the keyboard.
Blood draw tomorrow for Dr apt next week. I am sure they will find something to give me a hard time for. [;)]
penny - Ah, yes, but at least you played. Thanks for your insight. Lucky for us here, you share your artistic side.
Right now watching a live-feed at the volcano in Iceland. Spectacular light show after dark.
Good evening all,
Just checking in. Have to remember to use Chrome to sign in here. Firefox no longer works. Lots of rain today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
63 and fair. High 80’s to 90. Off to the woods for the day. Hope it is a short one in the woods. Got 3 helpers.
Have a great day.
Sunny and warm 88
I’m trying to get a backache this morning, no reason except I blame everything on old age.
I have never heard of a insurance agent coming to your house. I had State Farm and a few years ago the premum went way up so I got Safeco.Mow the back yard then work on my layout expansion today.
Morning folks!
Sunny and cool - maybe 80 today. Nice breeze!
Got the El Cam driver windshield channel sanded down and primed. Today I will work on the passenger side.
Good Morning - Happy Sinko de Mayo
Grey and dreary today - rain off and on 60s
Penny - as a father and fiancee to 2 artistic and amazing artists, I complement and support when needed. Yes, you guys are different, but in a really good way. You and my “girls” are gifted and we are the better for it. Your work is outstanding.
Jenni wanted my picture - we paid extra for it - so since yesterday was International Firefighter’s Day:
Memorial Service tonight, need to scram outta here a little early and run over to pick up Jenni, then to the outer most reaches of the county - then Friday night and Saturday more local for our fallen brother’s services. Busy week - again.
Hello there,
Fife…a gentle nudge and support for whatever they like.
Rich…great pic…
Re insurance. I had State Farm all my life til a few years ago. Saved 48% by switching to better coverage on home and auto.
Busy weekend. Son got different days off, he’s off weekends, not sure how long. So , he decided to go racing Saturday nite. Did ok, top 4 in both classes. Sunday we went Hillclimbing. Not so hot there but we had a fun weekend.
Monday and Tuesday we got some much needed rain.
Yesterday the mini split arrived via freight. Surprised because it isn’t very heavy. The new valve came the other day got that installed correctly this time. Giving the glue time to set so I’ll fill it today. Then started to reassemble Grandson’s quad engine. I managed to damage a new crankshaft bearing using to much force. A new one is on the way
Not sure what today will bring other than Mrs and I both getting our hairs cut at 10
Best get on with the day.
Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.
Well filled all the tubes with blood yesterday and the jar. Been getting results back and so far so good. Don’t have the big lab stuff but all the single tests look fine.
Nice picture Rich!
We got two drips and a drop of rain over night. Hope it don’t screw up the Trimeck I put down yesterday on those yellow flowers in the grass. [banghead]
Sounds like we will have the grand-dog this weekend so the kids can go to a water park for Mother’s day. Could be worse I guess.
Not a lot else.
Good Morning - barely -
Mom and Jenni attended the Memorial Service and it was as good as can be. I rang the bell in honor of those that have passed. The service was about an hour.
Viewing tomorrow for another one of fire service family - At 70, still too young. I’m begging to get out of here early so I can attend with the department - these f***ed up hours are horrible…
Fire Drill tonight, probably. Dinner with Jenni after.
Thanks, Kev and Banks!
Windy and cooler in the 60s today.
That’s all from here for now
Good morning team!
Another sunny day - 60’s this am so warming - low 80’s this afternoon!
Got the passenger side windshield channel done/primed. Sanded the drivers side and some light application of Bondo in one spot (where it was originally Bondo-ed at the factory). You can also see where they leaded or brazed the top of the windshield pillars during the original build - they used Bondo to smooth it. Now for the top. Goal is to be state inspection ready for August. Started to pull screws for the dash removal/replacement. One screw (7 mm) is stuck - spins - grabbed it with pliers to pull and try and catch a thread - no dice. Put side pressure on it to try and catch a thread - no dice. Will try a few other tricks - this would be impossible with the windshield in.
Anj - that is a great pic! Ya look sharp!
Lookin good Anj! How can you not love fire fighters? They run TOWARDS the danger!
Hi nice but very cool day today, some things are working out.
Our camping area we started on by the creek last November is starting to look like something we had hoped for, even without the normal rains. I think it will be just fine by this time next year. We are very happy! [Y]
A Train question, the INS guy sent me this on coverage for the trains and layout. "We checked on some options for the trains……Todd spoke to underwriting for us, and it looks like 15k coverage with no deductible on our Personal Article Policy is the way to go, and would run like 113.00 annually."
What do you guys think??? Would you do it or roll the dice?
Camping area work Before
That’s not Iceland, that’s Fair Lawn NJ! We’re here cleaning up my brother-in-law “Big B’s” apartment and what you witnessed was Lady Firestorm’s reaction to what we found!
“More anon,” as the late, great, David P. Morgan would have said.
I’m going to have one hell of a new thread when we get home. [:(!] [banghead]
Very distinguished 'Devil! You look like a born leader of men!
