One of my former IBM consulting groups was based initially in Newport, RI so I have been there and seen this rail line myself. Newport has it’s PROS and CONS, mostly I like the back lawn of the Vanderbilt Breakers mansion there, really nice…inside is not too shabby either.
Anyhow, restoration of this rail line has been a dream of locals for decades now.
