This is a test run of my Model DIe Casting kit built 2-8-0. It was worked over to look as close as possible as a Colorado and Southern 2-8-0. I had dropped about 26 hoppers behind it and it walked away with them but this vid has about 20 cars so it could get over my little “humps” in my track with ease.
The engine is practically all metal so for its size its a decent puller.

I saved the video and lightened it up some. Looks pretty good so far.

It looks like YouTube didn’t get the whole video (ends at 20 seconds). Well, until the whole video is up, do you have any pictures?[:D] Which of MDC’s 2-8-0s is it?
I just picked up a new in the box, completely unbuilt NP Harriman 2-8-0 at a train show this weekend.[:D] It’s old enough to have an open-frame motor, but I’m guessing it can’t be much more than 25 years old. MDC’s provided screws are terrible for metal, but it’s been a pretty easy build. The thing’s a pretty smooth runner, and the super slow gearing is quiet too. I think these were in the $75 range before they stopped making kits. Was the $55 I paid a good deal (the parts had never even been out of the box)?
Looks like a nice loco but the video is too short! You can’t get a good look at it! I built an MDC 2 -truck Shay and posted a video of it here! They make nice kits!right click the pic to view the clip!

working on it now or maybe I will re-shoot it. Try to clip off the blank front of it and do some tweaking to shorten the length, the full vid runs right in front of the camera. Look Out!!
Its the larger Harriman I think. I think the model is perfect to make a N&W M2c 4-8-0 with a different running gear. This is why the kits are so good you can tinker around and get what you want.
