MDC HOn3 Consolidation

Hi gang,

I know this is a longshot but I was wondering if anyone knows a source for the old MDC/Roundhouse HOn3 outside frame Consolidation kit - either kit or assembled? I’ve tried all of the usual places ebay, hobby shop consignment etc without any luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep trying eBay. I saw one about 2-3 weeks ago.

You’re looking in the right places, but not many turn up.

Athearn has been asked in the past about the HOn3 items in the old MDC line and the answers have been pretty non-commital. “Maybe someday” basically. We can only hope that the heating up of the HOn3 market in general, with the various new and coming soon RTR items from a number of manufacturers, causes Athearn to take another look at the market demand for HOn3.

Try trains shows. I got mine at a Great Scale Train Show, on the White Elephant table a couple of years ago.

Thanks guys. That’s pretty much what I thought. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something that was obvious. It would be nice if’n Athearn/MDC/Roundhouse would re-release those kits.

We have the Great Train Expo out here in Salt Lake next weekend and the Hostler’s Club Show in Ogden about a month from now. I guess I’ll be prowling the used equipment tables.
