Meet in Sinclairville, New York

Nice! But hat passenger train was already in Sinclairville! He was either way ahead of schedule or the dispatcher gave the freight right over him.

Good catch. You are 100% correct. On the prototype DAV&P. RR. the switch’s are 20 car lengths past the station. while A passenger train would make a station stop, the brakeman would catch the switch for the on coming train. But in my case modeling compression has located the switch in front of the station. So our passenger train made the station stop, then backed in the clear, holding the main line while the freight pulled in on the passing siding. As soon as the freight was in the clear the passenger train would continue on. However all said and done you are 100%correct. It may also help to note that the DAV&P. was not a class one railroad. I have a copy of a train order that shows a passenger train on the Prototype DAV&P. that was ordered to back into the siding at Nortons. For a south bound freight. I do not know how the DAV&P. prioritized its trains. That is freight vers passenger but the freight train was traveling up graded and they may have played a part in it. Thanks for the comment.

Nice to see the DAV&P on here. My grandmother used to live in North Warren and I can still remember the trains chugging along north and southbound. I was at DV tower in Falconer when one of the last trains moved north across the Erie mainline. The operator got pretty upset when he thought an eastbound EL train wasn’t going to stop to let the northbound train through. I guess that’s one of the perils of being an operator at a quiet location.

Modelling G scale indoors is interesting. That must require a fair bit of scenic compression! Looks good!

great video, you can be proud. what is that catchy music you used for lead-in?

The music on the video was The Viper - Dixieland, I first herd it on NCIS Abby´s Song at the end of Kate´s Funeral
