Good news, when we get moved back to Chicago will once again be able to take the train downtown and maybe the new ones will have TOILETS…getting modern the ole IC…I remember the wicker seats where one had the heater and the other didn’t…wow that was a long time ago…
Finally some much need relief for the south suburbs. Now if Metra will finally start spending some track money on expanding capacity on the Electric Line (like they already did on the UP West Line), and finally expand service with the SouthEast Line now that every other line in the system has superior service and equipment…
This idea, which has some merit, is DOA in the house. Too bad, but the political scene is uglier than an SP Krauss-Maffei D-H from 1963, or the only C855B. (UP 61B)
I remember those too Don. I can still see the conductors flipping the seat backs for the return trips. I trust they’ll avoid that god awful orange of the '70’s cramped double deckers

Why does “new LED signage, new toilets and bathrooms, new wheelchair lifts, new seats, and the addition of 19 electrical outlets” cost $650,000 per car? I realize this includes labor, but that seems pretty stiff for this work.
