Anyone using Micro Engineering switches? Good? Bad? Quirks?
Some additional wiring needed, but generally very reliable See April 2016 Model Railroader for some tips and tricks. I model in Code 70, and Micro Engineering #6 switches are used almost exclusively.
I have, 16 ME code 70’s #6’s and only one issue as I received a warped one and ME replaced it within a week. I thought very easy to wire the frog but if you use code 70 use the code 83 rail joiners. I highly recommend. The rest of the layout had 2 CVT tunout kits with ME code 70, and CVT ties for mainline and sidings with code 70 ME weathered rail.

The current products (in HO at least) are DCC-friendly and very good. They deliver smooth operation and require very little tuning. Note that the rails beyond the frog do not have built-in jumpers, so you either have to add your own or power them from the next piece of rail they attach to.
