Micro-Mark Rivets?

Well I was working on my "New" bridge and horror of all horrors there are some rivets missing. Yep got my magnifying glass out and sure enough. I guess that’s what you get when using styrene on a bash build.[(-D]

I have used pointy things to make little rivets on things through the styrene, there of lots of good “how to” on making rivets on the WWW. Another method is to put little dabs of 5 minute epoxy on the styrene with a very fine needle, followed by a light sanding. With a little practice epoxy rivets look pretty good.

I thought I would like to give Micro-Marks rivets a try. Has anyone used them before? If so how do they look and take paint?

I initially was using the Archer rivet decals (their louver decals are great too). The last train show I went to had the Micro-Mark version - eight times as many rivets for half the price ! I’d recommend them !

Mark.

I`ve used the Micro-Mark rivets…just becareful when you do use them…they can come off of the sheet if you press to hard on them or if you tap them with a knife.

Brent,
Go for it you will never look back!
I use Archer, but have just gotten sheets from MM.
Like Dennis said, they are a little fragile, but some times you can save it with a little future if you get one or two that wants to run away.
I think you will really like them.

Thanks for the input guys. I’ll give them a try.

Now where’s my magnifying glass.[(-D]
