Help please. I have two kato sd40’s in green boxes. Have tried mt couplers 1015 in both. problem is they are way to low, they only come to the very bottom of the mt height gauge, or on any of my cars. Are these the right couplers or is the any other I should use?
M-T suggests this conversion kit for the SD40-2: 001 020 052
For the older SD40 (before 2004), they say to use 001 020 050

How can I tell they are older sd40s before 2004?
All of the green box units use the 2004. This is the old number…not sure of the new one. Kato redesigned the pilots on the newer runs with DCC ready mechanisms.
The older blue box locos use the 1015.

Mike thanks tried the MT 2052 couplers did the job. I’m new to N scale, everything I buy I get with MT couplers already installed. It was just the Kato SD40s didn’t. Thanks again. John
