www.train-sim.com is a really good one, another is http://www.railserve.com/Computers/MSTS/
and there are a couple really good ones on the CP corporate website, www.cpr.ca
Those mentioned by trainboy are good and don’t forget one right here
http://www.trains.com/community/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=292
And then there’s the Microsoft site for TS
http://www.microsoft.com/games/trainsimulator/
These should keep you busy.
i saw at the CP corporate page you can even get the C.P Christmass train
Sweet, I asked my wife for this game for Christmas. I didn’t know I could download some trains. I hope the game is as good as people say it is.
You can go here
www.mapleleaftracks.com
I have the Michigan Iron Ore.
How is that? I was thinking about purchasing the Michigan Iron Ore. My wife is from Ishpeming and my father in law works at the Tilden mine, so it should be interesting having seen everything from the mine to the ore dock in Marquette first hand.
It is nice but it is missing the Rebublic Sub. I love it. They have the new engines and also some older Alco’s. I have had it for a while.
Just as a side note, things are looking up for the mine, which in turn looks good for the LS&I. They just hired quite a few folks at the Tilden. For awhile they were actually talking about shutting the mines down altogether. That would have been a shame to see another cool little railroad go away. I have made it up to Houghton to check out some of what is left of The Copper Range RR, which isn’t much.
just go to google and type “MSTS addons”
There’s a neat pack of RS11s, hoppers, and caboose in two roadnames here http://www.trainartisan.com/ under “Free” - they also have a CP “Holiday Express”, some nice Via streamline passenger cars and a steamer that I’ve not tried. The Passenger cars look very good behind an ABBA F-unit set from http://www.3dtrains.com/ - I have an NYC set hauling mine (I know Via’s a Canadian operation but it looks pretty good in the absence of matching NYC cars!) Hope this is of use!
no offence but i think the Trainz series is a better option because of the extras that you can get at the click of a button. just my [2c]

alabamarailfan.com has some free downloads that are easy to install.
Here’s another one: klwtrainsim.com
Ooh, railroading_Brit got 2 I have used! Those are good too!
Its pretty good if your comp supports it its real good!. I just dont like not being able to bail the engine brake. Other than that its fun to bring a caol train with 4 70 macs and 125 cars down towards Kalispell trying to keep her on the speed limit without draining your air! if you do its YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA all the way in ( pick no derailments and get the ride of your life)
I bought MSTS when it first came out, and it was a buggy pile of garbage!! Marias Pass didn’t work well, when it worked at all. Units would always uncouple from the lead at MP 45 or something like that. Several supposed fixes were published, but none worked properly. Microsoft also had little interest in fixing bugs and supporting their product. Finally I just gave up and uninstalled it.
