I have this game but was wondering if their were certain missions you can do or addons. only thing i found was this

Zeke, there are “missions” within the game. I have down loaded a couple of locomotives and a caboose. I thought I had the site written down, I’ll have to search for it. In the mean time here are a couple of sites for you to look at. www.fullbucket.com and www.train-sim.com Ken

i heard of the downloads but not sure how to do it?

Zeke- Train simulator is awesome! Check out these websites!! Some of them you have to download and put into the games “right” folder. Others you can look for on the internet and buy, or buy right from them.

The MS “Train Simulator” is real time training type program. Try the BNSF “Marias Pass”, too few locomotives or too much load you will stall out on the grade. Can you control the train down grade? Standing in the yard, release the brakes without advancing the throttle, a few minutes later the train will start to drift backwards.

It works well with a fast Computer with lots of Ram in order to enjoy the realistic graphics. The level of graphics can be set in the program. I have a “RailDriver”, it works great, gives you the feel of a modern diesel cab control desk.

I am jealous. I really Like the way it looks i bet its real fun to use too.

There are a lot of user supplied add on scenario’s including some for the New York subway. The add on’s do require some work/skill to install properly, require high speed internet to accomodate downloads of these large files, and the amount of space occupied on your hard drive can be significant. When you consider the work involved with preparing these add ons, I am amazed at how many are free. These are of a much better quality than a lot of the commercial stuff that gets peddled around (and I don’t mean commercial Train Simulator add ons either).

I have a copy but uninstalled it because of space issues and I didn’t find the “game” that intersting. It did provide a better understanding of the issues of operating a train but I prefer Harpoon or US Navy Fighters for “playing” on the computer.

A lot up of add-ons here.

I have both MSTS and TRAINZ software. They both have add ons out there as well as a prtogram called paintshed that lets you custom paint rolling stock.

Check out www.train-sim.com .
