Starting the Midweek Madness this week are some pictures of my now more detailed Walthers GP9M.[:D]
Front view showing the 3 grab irons I added. It was hard getting them positioned right, because there are no markings on the front of the shell to show where the grab irons go.
Rear view showing the other 6 grab irons. There were already grab irons molded on, so I had to work around them, which made it hard to get the new grab irons straight.
The new interior, which is made mainly of plastic. The round seats were made using a hole puncher. I punched a couple holes in a plastic sheet, and used the round pieces that came out of the sheet.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.[:D] The pilot details may be added later, but I don’t feel like doing them right now.
If anyone else has done something this week, then feel free to post it.[:D]
Here’s my Candy Apple Red Soo SW1500. Although, I couldn’t find any proof the 1500s made into Candy Apple Red, I like the scheme. Plus, I had a SW1500 and didn’t have a MP15.
The Geep looks good, the cab details are a nice touch.
nbrodar: The model looks great, but I’m 99% percent sure that the Soo never painted up a SW1500 in Candy Apple Red. But I’ll tell you what. If they ever did, that is what it should look like.[^]
It is a detailed Athearn model. Actually, all I added was the grab irons, and handrail chains. Everything else is stock. A little paint makes all the difference.
Tomorrow when I’m on the computer that has my pictures, I’ll post a link to my webshots album(yet to be uploaded)Of Crossroads Village and Huckleberry RR Railfan Weekend. This year they had both of the steam engines operational, so on the last run of the day both saturday and sunday they Double headed.
